Galgerevet is the best place to see seals in the Wadden Sea National Park. Up to 400 seals rest here, basking in the warm sun on the sand, waiting to be admired.
We walk about 1.3 km from Sønderho Strand to the seal sandbank on the exposed seabed. Walking out there at low tide is a unique experience in itself. Along the way, the guide will tell you about the Wadden Sea and the fascinating creatures we encounter.
In cooperation with the Wadden Sea National Park, we train seal helpers. We teach children about seals, their lives, and what to do if they meet one. Afterwards, the children receive a diploma and a badge as proof that they are now official seal helpers in the national park.

Come and meet us on the beach at the end of Sønderho Strandvej. The tour takes about 2 hours.
In front of the sandbank there is a tidal channel, which means the seals do not feel threatened by our presence. On the contrary, some of the most curious seals may even swim over to us, allowing us to experience them up close.
The seabed is firm, so it is possible to bring a stroller, a pull cart, or similar for the little ones. In a few spots, the cart may need to be carried over uneven ground.
It’s a good idea to bring something to drink and eat for the children, as well as a plastic bag for collecting seashells and snail shells.
In the warm months, the tour can be done barefoot, but in spring and autumn, rubber boots are recommended. From Club Fanø’s shop in Fanø Bad, we rent rubber boots for only 30 DKK. You must pick up and return the boots yourself, and it’s a good idea to reserve them in advance by phone or email.
Remember that the temperature drops the further out we go.
