Skimboards are used at the water’s edge, where the water is shallow (5–10 cm) and there are no waves. That’s why Fanø’s long, flat beach is perfect for surfing and learning tricks on a skimboard. It’s also the ideal water sport for children, in completely safe conditions.
A skimboard is smaller than a traditional surfboard and has no fins. The board is used to glide across the water’s surface — it’s actually a bit like skateboarding. Once you’ve learned to balance on the board, you can start practicing some of the same tricks you can do on a skateboard.
Try this fun water sport with our instructor. During the hour, you’ll learn the basic techniques of skimboarding and then get started. How skilled you become depends on your own physical ability.
